Swiss Green Gas International Ltd. is a joint initiative of key stakeholders of the Swiss Energy industry. The expansion of renewable energies is a key strategic pillar of the shareholder of Swiss Green Gas International Ltd. In order to make electricity from renewable sources continuously available, Power-to-X technologies, the production of green gas and hydrogen are important. Green gas and hydrogen, which is produced with power from renewable energy sources, is considered as a key technology for the energy turnaround and de-carbonisation in view of Switzerland’s climate neutrality targets. Swiss Green Gas International Ltd. and its shareholders are committed to develop know-how in this area and realize leading-edge projects.

Power-to-X
Power-to-X (also PtX ) is a number of electricity conversion, energy storage, and reconversion pathways that use surplus electric power, typically during periods where fluctuating renewable energy generation exceeds load. Power-to-X conversion technologies allow for the decoupling of power from the electricity sector for use in other sectors (such as transport or chemicals), possibly using power that has been provided by additional investments in generation.

Green Gas
Green Gas, also called synthetic methane; as an exportable, renewable fuel, derived from carbon dioxide as hydrogen carrier and hydrogen produced from renewable sources. Green Gas can be used in different fields of application and replaces fossil natural gas e.g. in Facility heating, Transport, Industry processes. Green Gas is versatile, uses existing infrastructure and enables the seasonal storage of renewable energy.

Hydrogen
Hydrogen is an important pillar of the energy transition. First, it allows areas such as transportation (e.g. freight transport), certain industries (e.g. steel and fertilizer production) and heat production to be decarbonized. Second, as an energy carrier, it can be used to store and transport renewable electricity over long distances. This allows renewable energy to be produced in the most favorable locations and decoupled from consumption. Hydrogen is therefore central to the strategies of many countries and the EU.
